The rest of that special day

Val, Bob, Carol and I went out for dinner that evening to the Lakeside Hotel. The location is superb on the shore of Lake Ontario with views over to Toronto, some 30 miles away. The weather had been beautiful for 2 days so that we could clearly see the distinctive skyline of the city but as we sat down for dinner the storm clouds drew in and obliterated it. But despite the lashing rain and high winds that evening we had the best of times, enjoying each other's company, having lots of laughs and some great food. Despite the awful weather they very kindly drove us to the falls which are illuminated at night, sadly it was too wet to get out of the car.
